Forney ISD School Board Moving to Place Bond for 2nd High School on May Ballot
In what became a 3+ hour meeting with a record-breaking turnout of 90-100 members of the public attending and 17 members of the public presenting opinions, the Forney ISD School Board tonight voted 6-to-1 to direct the FISD administration to prepare a resolution to place a bond election on the May 12th, 2007 ballot. This resolution will be formally approved at a special board meeting on Friday, March 9th at 8AM.
The resolution calls for the construction of a 2000 student high school, in one project (not phased) to serve students in 9-12th grade. This high school would be located on land the district already owns on FM-548.
More information to come in an update this evening or tomorrow…
