Early Voting Begins Today – 16 Constitutional Amendments Before Texas Voters
Early voting in the November election begins today and runs Monday-Friday from today, Monday, October 22nd through Friday, November 2nd. The polls will also be open Saturday, October 27th for those who cannot make it to vote during the week. Hours each day are 8AM-5PM, and for Forney-area voters (including Travis Ranch and Windmill Farms), early voting will take place at the Forney Sub-Courthouse. Please note that the hours are modified on Thursday, November 1st and Friday, November 2nd when the polls will still open at 8AM but will not close until 8PM to allow people who can’t make it to the courthouse by 5PM to vote.
There are 16 constitutional amendments on the ballot, which are available for review at the Secretary of State’s website. The secretary’s website also gives links to the specific bill/resolution that led to each proposed amendment if you’d like to know a bit more about each of the amendments.
There are a number of other positions up for election on the ballot, so make sure you go vote! Also, the Kaufman County Clerk has begun scanning and placing online campaign finance report for candidates of all local offices from 2006 and 2007. So if you’re interested in seeing who’s run for what positions and the details of how they financed their campaign, be sure to check that out.
