Donate a Book to Big Brothers/Big Sisters

Just a quick note; I was in the Mesquite location of Borders Books today and they have implemented a novel program; instead of asking for a monetary donation to a charity, they have a stack of childrens books at the checkout and are asking customers if they’d like to select a book to purchase to give to the Big Brothers/Big Sisters program.

Borders had several books available at $1.99, and I saw a couple of people who took the time to go through the books and find books that had a special meaning to them, or that they enjoyed as a child, really highlighting how unique this program is.

The cashier I spoke with said she believes the program will be continuing through the remainder of the week, so if you happen to be near the Borders Books in Mesquite, drop in and buy a book to give to Big Brothers/Big Sisters.
