Forney resident arrested, Chevy Tahoe held pending seizure.

News Release from the Forney Police Department

Forney Police Officer Weems conducted a routine traffic stop on October 22, 2008 at approximately 10:55 P.M. on S. Bois D Arc. During the traffic stop Officer Weems observed an odor of marijuana, and received consent to search the vehicle. During the search, the Officer came across marijuana seeds and scales, as he continued his search he came across a backpack that also emitted the strong odor of marijuana. The officer looked into the backpack which contained one (1) 10oz. bag of marijuana, one (1) 4oz. bag of marijuana and another scale. After the subject Trajen Brooks 34, of Forney was placed under arrest the officer completed the search of the vehicle to find two (2) other 16oz bags of marijuana. Approximately 3 pounds of marijuana, two (2) digital scales, and three (3) boxes of sandwich bags were entered into Forney Police Evidence. Also $947.00 cash and a 2002 Chevy Tahoe were brought to the Forney Police Department for filing of seizure. The subject is being held at the Forney City Jail on a $3,500 bond.
