Today is the last day to register to vote if you want to vote in the elections this November. Each year, I make an appeal to everyone who reads this to go register and make sure you vote. However, this year, Google has been promoting a video that really drives the point home, so check it out…

While I may not agree with the political views of some of the actors featured in the video, I agree wholeheartedly with the message – if this country, our economy and all the issues facing our country and our world are important to you, you must register to vote.

In order to register to vote, simply visit this page on the Secretary of State’s website – once you complete the questionnaire, the Secretary of State’s site will generate the proper form for you to mail to the voter registrar. However, your registration must be postmarked today, October 6, 2008, in order for you to be eligible to vote during the November election. Also, if you have moved to Kaufman County from any other state or even any other county in the state of Texas (i.e., if you moved to Forney from Dallas), you must complete a new voter registration application. Voter registration does not transfer between counties – you must re-register in Kaufman County, today, if you wish to vote in the November election.
