 Stray Pit Bulls Attack 8 Year Old & Grandmother South of Forney

On October 6, 2008 at 3:15 p.m. Forney 911 received a 911 call from a mother of an 8 year old female who was being attacked by two pit-bull dogs in the 10400 block of FM 740 South. At the time of arrival from the Forney Police, Fire, Animal Control and East Texas EMS witnessed a grandmother attempting to free her granddaughter from the dogs attacking the child. Care Flite was dispatched to the scene to transport the child to Children’s Medical and grandmother was transported by ambulance to Parkland. Mesquite Police and Animal Control were also on scene assisting the call. The dogs did not belong to the victims; they were running stray in the area. The owner of the dogs was contacted and has been in contact with Mesquite Police and Mesquite Police will continue the investigation.
