RaceWay Gas Station Robbed; Clerk Assaulted – Reward for Information
This morning at 5:10AM, Kaufman County Sheriff’s deputies and officers from the Terrell Police Department responded to a hold-up alarm at the RaceWay gas station located between Forney and Terrell on Highway 80. As officers arrived at the scene, they found the clerk outside the store after she was assaulted during a robbery by five suspects, some of which were armed.
Surveillance video from the store shows five men wearing hoodies entered the store and split up – several of the suspects jumped the counter and others went around it. One of the suspects held a gun to the clerk’s head while the others stole cigarettes and cash. The gunman then hit the clerk in the head with the gun as the suspects fled the scene.
While listed in stable condition earlier today, reports now indicate that the clerk was treated and released.
The Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office is offering a reward in the amount of $2500 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspects of the robbery. Persons with information should contact Sgt. Cagle at 972-932-9718.
A frame from the surveillance video from the scene appears above; more information will be posted as it is released by the Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office.
