Environmental Co-Op Plans Spring Classes

The Environmental Co-Op has planned several interesting courses for this Winter/Early Spring. For those of you interested in organic gardening, these courses are inexpensive and very helpful.

On Feb. 18th join the Organic Co-op for a presentation by Co-op member Margaret Ann Trails about Bee Keeping. Call 972-524-0007 or email
environmentalco-op@cebridge.net if you need more information or would like to attend.

Interested in composting? Check out the Winter Master Compost Class, which will be held on Feb. 14th and 21st. The cost is $30. This two day course will give you hands-on training on the basics of composting.

If you’d like to learn more about vermi-composting, don’t miss the Vermi-Compost Class on April 4th. You’ll learn how to build and maintain your own worm bin to compost kitchen scraps. The cost is $15.00 and you will be able to make a worm bin to take home with you.

Lastly, you might be interested in this guide on how to avoid foods made from Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs). The guide is produced by the Center for Food Safety. You can download the PDF (must have Adobe Reader) here.
