F.I.S.D. Welcomes New Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources and Administrative Services
The Forney I.S.D. Board of Trustees approved the hiring of Joseph W. Cammarata as the district’s new Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources and Administrative Services during its regular monthly
board meeting on Monday, Feb. 2. Mr. Cammarata replaces Donna Sweaney who announced her retirement earlier this school year. Mr. Cammarata has more than 23 years of experience in the field of education including 15 years of experience in school administration. He currently serves the Katy Independent School District as the Principal at Morton Ranch High School.
Cammarata began his career in education as a middle school teacher at Crispus Attuck Middle School in the Houston ISD and has taught at the elementary, middle, junior high and high school levels. His first school administrative position was as the Assistant Principal at Huntsville Intermediate School in Huntsville ISD. In 1998 he was named the Principal at Mance Park Middle School in Huntsville ISD before becoming the Principal
at Katy Junior High School in Katy ISD in 2000. He has served as the Principal at Morton Ranch High
School since 2004. Cammarata received his Bachelor’s Degree in teaching from Sam Houston State
University in 1986 and his Masters in Education from Sam Houston State University in 1995. He holds a Mid-
Management Certification and is currently pursuing his Superintendent Certification at the University of Texas in Tyler.
