Forney ISD Board of Trustees Approve New Principal, Assistant Principals
Fisher Named Principal of Claybon Elementary School
FORNEY – The Forney ISD Board of Trustees approved a new principal for Claybon Elementary School, a new Assistant Principal for Forney High School and a new Assistant Principal for Criswell Elementary School during its regular monthly board meeting on Monday, June 1, 2009.
Scott Fisher was approved by the Board to be the new principal at Claybon Elementary School. Fisher, currently the Assistant Principal at Claybon, replaces Debbie Kneggs who was recently named the Director of Student Services for Forney ISD.
Fisher began his career in education as a 6th and 7th grade teacher for three years at A.C. New Middle School in Mesquite ISD. In 1999 he served as the Principal at Maypearl Middle School in Maypearl ISD before coming to Forney ISD as the Assistant Principal at Henderson Elementary School in 2000. He has served as the Assistant Principal at Claybon Elementary School since 2004.
Fisher received his Bachelors Degree in History from the University of Texas at Tyler and his Masters in Educational Administration from Texas A&M University in Commerce. He is currently enrolled in the Superintendent Preparation Program at the University of Texas of the Permian Basin.
The Forney ISD Board of Trustees also approved the hiring of Barbara Bredemeier as an Assistant Principal at Forney High School for the 2009-2010 school year. Bredemeier replaces Lourdes Kemp who will be the Assistant Principal at North Forney High School when the school opens in August of this year.
Bredemeier, who is currently the Instructional Specialist at Richardson High School in Richardson ISD, began her teaching career in 1979 as a 7th, 8th and 9th grade reading teacher at Richardson Junior High School in Richardson ISD. She began teaching high school students in 1995 at Richardson High School. She has also served as the Advanced Placement Coordinator, the On-Site Staff Development Coordinator at Richardson High School and as the Assistant Principal Intern for the Lake Highlands Summer Program.
Bredemeier received her Bachelor’s Degree in English from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas and her Master’s Degree in Secondary Reading from Texas Women’s University. She is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas.
The Board also approved Theresa Hale as the new Assistant Principal at Criswell Elementary School at the June 1 Board meeting. Hale replaces Dana Curry who was recently named the Staff Development Coordinator for Forney ISD.
Hale began teaching elementary school in Orvis Risner Elementary School in Edmond Oklahoma in 1989. She moved to San Angelo, Texas in 1994 where she taught at two different elementary schools over a five year period before moving to Forney ISD in 1999. She is currently the ESL/Gifted and Talented teacher at Criswell Elementary School. She has also taught 3rd,4th and 6th grades at Criswell.
