Forney school trustees employed more professional contract personnel during a special meeting that began at approximately 7:00 a. m. Tuesday in the board room of the Administrative Services Building.

After the opening ceremonies, board president David Walker announced that the board would go into executive session pursuant to §551.074 of the Texas Government Code to discuss the employment of professional contract personnel. Executive session began at approximately 7:05 a. m.

The board returned to open session at 7:30 a. m. and trustee John L. Taylor made a motion to employ all professional contract personnel as recommended. Trustee Keith Bell seconded and all trustees voted in favor.

The following were employed:
Jason Farrow, FHS, teacher – special education – inclusion/head baseball coach; Sharon Hartt, NFHS, teacher – English/English as a Second Language (ESL); Mary Hooper-Van Cleve, NFHS, teacher- biology; Jeni Long, Administration – Instructional Tehnology Facilitator; Kelly Mims, FHS, teacher – math; Katherine Rowe, Rhea ES – techer, kindergarten, dual language (English); Neil Shaffer, Blackburn ES – teacher, 5th grade math; Jonna Thixton – Claybon ES – teacher, 1st grade; Tami Jo Vaughn, Henderson ES – teacher – 4th grade; Regina Walston, FHS – Counselor; James Watkins, FHS – teacher, physics; and Heather Williams, FHS – teacher, chemistry.

The vote to hire the new employees was followed by announcements. The meeting was adjourned at 7:37 a. m.
