Plants for free... come get them

I have tons of plants for flower beds & borders. I am cleaning mine out today & this coming weekend of I don't get finished today. Whatever is pulled out will be given away or tossed to the compost pile.

I have

Elephant ears
zenias - they will come back in the spring & I can tell you how
mexican petunias - both standard & drwarfs for borders
black eyed susans
cone flower
Iris

All of these come back every year & are low maintenance. They all tolerate full & afternoon son.

KW, I am interested in the seeds for zenias and coneflowers (pink if you have them).  Also I have a white coneflower that is going to seed that I can share with you. . .plus I have two lantina plants that I am wanting to get rid of. . . it will probably be a couple of days before the lantina (yellow) can come up . . I think there are ants and I baited that flower bed on Saturday. . . so should probably wait a couple more days before digging.

Taxes should be used for NEEDS not wants.  You WANT something extra/special pay for it yourself, don't share the burden with other homeowners.  Why should people's taxes be so high and unaffordable?

Any flowers left? And if so, can anyone give me guidance on how to plant them? I tried last year to plant flowers and the seeds NEVER grew! :( I howed the grass and put down the black looking paper and potting soil. Did I do something wrong? And yes, I watered them. :( Not sure what happened. I have two places beside my sidewalk by the front door that is shady that I want planted. Any suggestions and guidance would be greatly appreciated. :)

You need to be sure and find out how much sun/shade the plants would need. . . plants that need a lot of sun will not do well in a shady area.

Pookie, I still have stuff... plenty of stuff. I can advise you on what to do with the flowers, etc. All of these take direct, full sun. I only water the beds in the extreme heat of the summer. Also, throw anything that will decompose behind the plants. That will help hold moisture longer. Come take a look & let me know.

Well, the only time this area has sun is in the morning time. it is covered with part of our roof in front and has brick walls for side shade! LOL What do you recommend I plant in such area?
