Its official - I've filed for School Board

So the day has finally come.....I filed my application for a place on the ballot first thing this morning.  I wanted to share with you guys because the support I've received here is really what pushed me to pursue it in the first place. 

As I've said before if I do get elected it will be from a grassroots effort, word of mouth, facebook, etc.  I have zero political, work, family or church connections in Forney - but I did grow up here, graduated here, came back and decided to raise a family here, and my kids will graduate from Forney schools.  I want to try to give back to the district that educated me! 

I'm going to create a "Mike White for School Board" facebook page so if I do have your support make sure to add me.   ^thumbs

Thanks Gonzo.  Your encouragement and support has really helped. 

I wish it was 3 - just the two this time!  Next year will be the 3 so thats just my luck!   :D

I'm completely ok with support from the ag contingent.  I'm sure we, parents and taxpayers in FISD, have the same goal.  Me and most of the ags are probably on the same side of the fence politically thats for sure.

I thought I responded on the uniform issue on that long thread we had going on the issue. 

Sort of.   8)

Personally, I'm probably pro-uniform but I only have little ones and its easy and convenient for me.  As far as setting policy on that (or a number of other things) I'd want to find out what parents think of them.  All that SB's ever seem to use is what they hear or what principals pass on.  I'd be curious where parents really came down on it.

Oddly, this is the same cycle that you and I ran in a few years ago along with 5 or 6 others. This cycle is Bruce and Charles.
