Fundraiser for Handy Dan
« on: August 13, 2009, 09:12:41 pm »
I know I posted this somewhere else as a reply, but wanted to make sure this had its own post.

Dan and Amy are great people. I love that Sherri is doing this for them. She is a RockStar!

Taxes should be used for NEEDS not wants.  You WANT something extra/special pay for it yourself, don't share the burden with other homeowners.  Why should people's taxes be so high and unaffordable?

I would give you the link to the original thread but it's unbearable to read.  The OP might have just stepped off the boat from Korea.

Gonzo,

Let me help you . . . . . here is what Gonzo is trying to say

The short story is Madres is doing an all day fundraiser Saturday for Dan and Amy.  If you don't go eat there Saturday, you are for child abuse and you are money hungry.

Those are Gonzo's words. . . not mine. . . lol

Dear Forney Community,   A local family needs our help.

On the afternoon of Wednesday, August 12th, someone stole a white Chevy 3/4 ton pickup truck and a 20ft. black trailer loaded with mowing equipment from Danny Ray Hardman of Handy Dan Services.  In this case, they didn't just steal the truck and equipment; they robbed a man and his family from their livelihood.

Many of you know Dan Hardman as an honest, hard-working, lifetime member of our community.  We know the economy is making times tight for many families right now, but this family could really use our help.

There are two ways you can help right now.
   1.  If you have any information about this theft, please
contact the Forney Police Department at
        972 552 2211.
   2.  On Saturday, August 15th, Madres'Cocina will
be hosting an all day fundraiser for the Hardman
family...all proceeds and tips will go to Dan and
Amy and their three young children.

Madres will be open Saturday from 11am until....
              Thank you for caring.

I know this is a shot in the dark, but someone from the Mesquite pee-wee forum that I chat on had their trailer stolen not long ago and just happen to find their own trailer... Here is where she found it... someone PLEASE send this to Dan....This is where she says she found it:

If you drive out 175 going to Kaufman, there is a guy at the Bud Stoy Road exit that deals in stolen trailers, lawn equipment, etc. His name is Kenneth Fogle. He is no stranger to the Kaufman COunty Sheriffs dept. If you take the Bud Stoy exit and stay left n the service road that will put you right in front of his house. There is a racing products place right beside where he lives. We just happen to be driving back from the lake and saw our trailer in his front yard. Ours had some really good identifying marks on it that we were able to give to the Kaufman County Sheriffs Dept. Boy was he scared poopless when he pulled up in his drive and the sheriff greeted him.

Did they have more then one truck and trailer cuz I just went to Taco Bell at about one this afternoon and saw a truck with a trailer with Handy Dan's info on it turning from Ranch rd onto the first street after the light after teh gas station and was wondering if maybe the truck and trailer had been found?  Anyone know cuz that would be just awesome!!

Nevermind, looking for the mowing trailer not the enclosed trailer.  Sorry to excite everyone!  Keep your eyes out still.

Gonzo, sorry for the problems you had earlier - my guess is you were pasting something that contained some 'special' Microsoft characters - usually it's either the quotes or dashes that Word/Outlook uses, although the bullets might do it, too. When you try to post a message with those characters in it, it truncates the message at the first 'special' character and posts it without throwing an error. I finally discovered it when I was trying to help someone fix one of their posts, so I know how frustrating it is. Sorry!
