Yeah! - good job Steph.

On your news page link was a link to Philbeck's website...
It reminded me about the trophy mounts he had in there!!!
They were really cool - no more moose, bear, lion, cougar, etc. --- all gone!

AND 'my' authentic antique bar set-up is gone too...  :'( - (it was a full deal - a booth w ceiling, cornices, posts, back bar, counters, a little entry door, floor deck, - the works!)
He used to keep a cowboy manequin in there ... I was gonna buy it  ::someday::.
-------- at least I THINK it was there... might be somewhere else, not 100% ---------

I am sorry Philbecks'.. hope you can make a come-back.

I am very sorry for their loss.  I did see the fire this morning, just by chance on my way to work.  I did not photograph the tragic incident, which is something that I feel very strongly about, and why you don't see graphic photos on 20PM. As someone who has watched her home and business destroyed by fire, I am empathic to their situation, and chose not to run story until the Forney Fire Department releases a press release.  Though many will say "it's just a business" I know it is very difficult to lose something you have worked your whole life for.

Philbeck and its employees are in my prayers.

Jen, I completely respect that, me as a Forney Resident I look to 20PM, as away to look for the common news that is going on in Forney.  I have seen several post on the recalls, on diet supplements or the other items that have been posted as well.  It is nice however to just recognize the issues that are happening as they happen in support of our community and the individauls that are going through the events that are occurring.  Such as the nice post you put about Philbecks in this thread maybe not posting pictures but posting a thread on updating on the event, and letting them know that 20pm is  with them at this time..

I also would like to add while we are thinking and praying for the Philbecks, and the Worthams, might we say what a Great Job on the Forney FD, in a job well done, and not having any injuries in this Huge task that they had set for them this morning.  We have some amazing individuals, quite a few that I personally know that risk themselves for us each day.  So here is a Thank you to the guys that were involved in this fight this morning, and Thank you Lord for keeping them safe..

Coach, thank you for the kind words. This particular circumstance hit close to home, so I was hesitant to really post anything.  I am glad to see that I would not have offended anyone by just posting a short message.  As you know, I'm hardly a news reporter, and first and foremost, just want the business owners to know that we are here to help in any way we can.

I also commend the Forney fire department, and the kind gentlemen that directed me today when I was stuck in traffic with many others.  I'm sure some folks that were late to work were less than understanding, so I'd like them to know that we appreciate their help since they did the best that could be done under the circumstances.  On behalf of 20PM,  ^thumbs

One of my daycare parents works for the  FFD. I didn't ask anything because she seemed pretty worn out and tired. I kept her youngest so she could go home and get some rest. Our men and women who serve our community really deserve our respect. She said they got there around 3 or 3:30 this morning.

I just spoke with Randy. He is in positive spirits. He said, "I can get through this. This is easy. If it were my kids, that'd be a different story."

Sounds to me like Randy is a very grounded person, with the knack of keeping perspective on things in the face of such a staggering loss.  Whenever anything bad happens to me, I just think about the tragedies that many people face--and I think most often of people with small children with life-threatening or terminal conditions--and I realize my worries are insignificant by comparison.  When Randy said that if it were his kids it would be different, it shows that he's clearly a man with his head screwed on right...

Any word on what they think caused that fire? That was a pretty hot burning fire. Curious what they think caused it.
