If you are in this area- behind Criswell - say hello- would love to get a conversation going--

and if you use the little Heritage Hills park- what do you think- can they ever clean it up and repair the damaged equipment- who do we go to for that??

Heritage Hill. I am jealous of all your huge trees! I like to drive through your neighborhood. I see the smaller houses and think that this would be a nice place to downsize when the kids are out of the house. Criswell is my favorite elementary.

With regards to your park...isn't that a city of Forney park? If it is then City Hall needs to take care of business.

If you are referring to the little park just off 740 behind Criswell it is indeed a Forney City Park. Bummer that they trashed it - it hasn't been very long since it was built/refurbished. Maybe two or three years. $:-\$

yeah- the town does not keep it up very well- the 'cushion' and the bark chips are a mess- much of the equipment is broken- and they remove it rather than fix it- which leaves less equipment- one of the city workers told me they cannot even keep lights out there because the kids break the lights and then hang out all night there. So sad they cannot just respect the property. guess I will need to ask Richard Curry(Parks and Rec) if he/the city have any plans to work on this park- I see work being done to others around town, but ours seems so left out.

As for the comment re our trees--yeah I like them too...wish we had more---

They do wonders for keeping heating/cooling bills down to a reasonable level!

Moved here from Miami in 2006. I bought the ugliest house on ther block and have tried to change it... my CLOSE neighbors call me the rose lady. My real name is barbee. I love flowers. Red roses especially.

Please forgive me...I'm WORKING on the lawn. I love this town, I love this neighborhood and I want to be an asset that adds to our pride.

Do we do block parties in this town? Ever since I moved here I wanted to bring that FL tradition. But I'm kinda shy. Ya know -get to know you-build that bond neighborhood watch kinda thing...

Does Texans DO that kind of thing?>I would REALLY LIKE TO DO THAT.

Its not a bad neighborhood I guess. Truth be told one of the benefits of the foreclosure crisis was the worst parts of my street have moved on. The renters have actually been better than the original owners in most cases.

We do use the park now and then. It is quite the pre-teen hangout - the term "go parking" has a whole new meaning lol.

I love Criswell. I wish the parking situation was a little better and was talking to the Supt about it one time. They're definitely aware of the issue but I dont think there is much they can do there.

Block parties? I think the closest thing you'll get to that here is over in Windmill Farms. On the weekends a lot of people seem to hang out in their garages/driveways but it doesnt seem like a block party type thing.
