Door-to-Door "Salesman"
« on: October 12, 2010, 03:51:23 PM »
Just had a guy at the door selling magazines for his "work program".  Uh huh.  He didn't have a clipboard or anything in his hands.  No vehicle either.

Male, Hispanic, 5'8", short dark hair, missing front tooth, teardrop tattoo by left eye, wearing a dark gray button down shirt with a tie, black slacks.

Could be casing, could be legit.  Just a heads up!

Doesn't a tear drop tattoo mean you murdered someone?

The whole thing sounds fishy to me. Thanks for the heads up!

Yep, it's a 'warning' to other people in prison that you have murdered someone. Prisoners usually put them on each other with homemade tattooing equipment.

A teardrop tattoo originated with gangs and was associated with murdering someone.  It also can mean you've lost a loved one.

I think I surprised him by how fast I answered the door and the stern "look" I gave him.  He said his work program was paying for his college, paying to have his tattoos removed and helping him with job placement.

Since I live in County Territory I knew it was pointless to call the KCSO because he would be long gone by the time anyone showed up BUT I have a friend who lives in one of the 17 houses in the City Limits so I called her.  She said she had seen him but when he heard her dogs going crazy he quickly left.  She called Forney PD (but unfortunately since the part she lives in just recently became part of the city at first the dispatcher was telling her to call the SO then finally figured out she did live in the city and would dispatch an officer) but I don't know if anyone from FPD was available to respond.

They were coming door to door in Windmill Farms today also.  KCSO stopped them in the neighborhood around 4pm.

Male or Female?  We had a lone female going door-to-door on Halifax.  She was only carrying a totebag.  DD warned me and we just sat and listening to her ring the bell and knock while our vicious dogs were making alot of noise.  She didn't knock long. ;D
