Where's the mud?

There's alot of four wheel drive vehicles around here. Where do you go to play in the mud?

The reason you have so many "reads" and no replies could be that the majority of people on this site are responsible adults that aren't going to drive through and tear up other people's property just to get a kick. We all just happened to open the thread to see what was on there.

On a side note, if you or anyone else decides to go muddin' on my property your nice big 4 wheel drive will be turned into a pile of junk and you probably won't be able to walk away unassisted.

I think he was asking as a responsible adult... where do people here go 4 wheeling. Geez... I never once got the impression he wanted to ride on people's yards.  Hostile people today!  :P

I was more irked by his follow up post. Seemed kind of smart a** to me. Also, I always end up with a bunch of ruts on my little piece of country land after it rains. So its kind of a sore subject for me because a majority of these 4 wheelers don't get permission before they tear across people's property.

Plus, I think I just woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning.  :P

We are all entitled to those days :)

I think he was just bummed no one told him. Like its the big Forney secret... if you arent in the "know" you dont get to know lol  That is how I feel when I ask about something and no one answers  >:(

I have no idea where people 4 wheel... while I think it looks like fun (when its REEEAAAAALLLLY Muddy like I have seen on TV) I dont have much interest in it. Though I would like to do like the one Redneck Wedding on TV I saw. *That* looked like fun lol.  It was super mud  ^thumbs

ATV or 4x4 truck/jeep?

There are plenty of places within a couple hours drive in just about any direction.  Google ATV parks and you'll find what your looking for.

There is a mud rally going on in Easton at Gator Run this weekend.  The recent rains should make that a pretty good venue.

I also saw yesterday a vehicle that said Rockwall County Mud Bogs.  Might google it too.

Wow! Well, first off, thank you Heather, for seeing the post as it was intended...an honest question. Secondly, thanks to YMM and Payday for ya'll's input (ya'll's? but of course, I'm a native Texan). I know there's some mud that washes onto the roads in a few areas around here, and Lake Lavon has an off-road section that i've been to several times when I had my dirt bike, and Adam's Trail out by the paintball place can be quite fun. However, I don't actually have an "off-road" vehicle (OK, it's a Cavalier), but I like slinging sod...so much so, that every vehicle I've owned has been mudbuggin(including the lil Geo Metro I had 12 years ago).
Ok, so, how does it feel to be part of the minority on this website Big C? Just asking, because most "responsible" adults would've used terms like "wise cracker", "smarty trousers", "wisenheimer", or even the old school "smart aleck". On your side note, are you implying that your property is filled with landmines? You know, you can alway jot down the license plate and call the authorities. Destruction of private property is against the law.

Oh...and uh, by the way, yes, I CAN be a smart a** (sorry folks, I had to say it  ;D ).

Because a smart a** is a smart a**. I don't beat around the bush, I call it as I see it.  ;D Secondly, I don't see how I'm in the minority since there were 117 reads and you only got responses from 4 people. Besides, you are automatically in the minority since Heather is on your side.  ;D Many others will oppose you just to spite Heather.  :P (just kidding Heather)

Kidding aside. I believe everyone on here would be unhappy about someone driving a vehicle across their property creating ruts. I have a few acres out in the country and I always have ruts after the rain. Hell, they've even driven through and destroyed my locked gate. I don't live on the property so its hard to catch them. And, as I said in my response to Heather. I was having a bad day, it was raining that morning, so I knew I would have more damage to my property when I went out there that evening and your post struck a nerve.

Here is a link that might help you.

We go to the Superlift park and it is only 4 hours away. Barnwell is where most locals go.

Most people that offroad do NOT tear things up. TREAD LIGHT.

And ugh... I wish people would respect other people's property. Is it really hard to simply respect someones private property?

Sorry to hear you keep having problems. Is there anything you can put on your property that would force these idiots off?  I imagine they have things that you can hide on the ground that would jack these 4 wheelers up. Or maybe not. Your luck is the idiot would get hurt and then sue you because they got hurt being where they shouldnt have been. Dont you love our justice system sometimes? lol

I'm sure there are things I can do but they would be a burden to me when I want to enter my own property. I'm just hoping to catch them in the act at some point. Then I just would let them leave until the cops show up and I would file criminal trespass and vandalism charges on them.

I hope you manage to catch them! Maybe you can put up some kind of motion camera that will only come on if something is moving? Course out in a field that might trigger alot ;) But maybe it would give you an idea when these jerks tend to visit you.

Wow, you know what this sounds like to me? Someone who likes to play in the mud, but doesn't want to do it in someone's pasture. Wouldn't that be why they asked "Where's the mud?" If they had found your pasture, they wouldn't be asking for somewhere else to go off-roading would they? I just don't see how that made since in someone's head. Therefore, it seems as though they were being intentionally confrontational. Man, what a d-bag...
