I always post updates as election results come in from around Forney, but this time I won't be able to post them as quickly as I usually do, it'll probably be later in the evening than usual before I'm able to start posting them. Once I do, I'll post them as a reply to this thread, and on the blog, for those of you who are interested.

P.S. To all of our local candidates - good luck. I know a lot of you have poured quite a bit of time, effort and money into what has been a difficult, trying campaign.

Sorry, while I manage to get the scoop on a lot of things around Forney via the 'net, I still haven't figured out how Karl Rove and his buddies were accessing electronic voting machines via the Internet, so we all have to wait until the results are tallied and updates are officially released.  ;D

J/K about Rove & friends, by the way. At least I hope I am.  :-\

You? Naah, never! :)

I do have to say, we just went by the Windmill Farms Info Center, which is where everyone in precinct 40 is voting - wow, it was packed! It's exciting to see how many people from Windmill Farms and the areas north of us that are within our precinct are turning out to vote in the last few elections we've had, and apparently that trend is really continuing.

66.67% reporting - that's 28 out of 42 precincts. I learned a bit more, hands-on, about why some precincts report in faster than others, and will have an interesting story to post tonight or tomorrow about that, once all the results are in.

Not sure if any Windmill Farms residents have driven past the info center in the past few hours - that HUGE group of people outside was the Democratic caucus for precinct 40, which includes Windmill Farms. The turnout was massive. Some estimates placed it at over 200 people.

On the Republican side of things, Pct 40 had 6 Republicans show up for the precinct convention - of course, because the Democrats do things a bit differently and the results of the Democratic caucuses impact who their party nominates for president, there's generally bit more of a turnout on the Democratic side of things.

FYI, the house district 4 results (Gent versus Brown) only include Kaufman County. Most news agencies don't seem to have the most current results for Henderson, I'm trying to get them.

At this point everything's pretty much decided - the only thing I can't figure out is if Gent has a statistical chance of pulling ahead of Brown with the 2 precincts left to report in Kaufman and 19 left in Henderson county. I'm guessing most of Gent's support was from Kaufman County, since he's a Kaufman native that lives in Forney, but it's hard to guess, given that I don't know which 2 precincts it is that haven't reported their tally back to the county here in Kaufman County; if they're bigger precincts, it might still swing towards Gent.

With 1 precinct left in Kaufman County and 9 left in Henderson, Brown is up by 786 votes, which I'm guessing is an insurmountable lead at this point.
