The poll should be up shortly for you to vote for Forney's Most Wanted Sandwich Shop or Cafe. (Poll is now up - go vote at
http://twentypeacefulminutes.com/survey/index.php?sid=1) This thread is for any discussion or debate about the sandwich shops and cafes that have been nominated. Remember, you're just voting for and discussing the sandwich shop or cafe you'd most like to see in Forney - we'll tackle another type of restaurant in a couple of weeks, in the next "Forney's Most Wanted". The nominees are:

Remember, the sandwich shop or cafe with the most votes at the end of a week or so will be named Forney's Most Wanted Sandwich Shop or Cafe and I'll get in touch with that particular restaurant and let them know that the residents of Forney picked them as the sandwich shop or cafe we'd most like to see in our town next.

If you have any questions about any of these cafes before you place your vote, feel free to post here, I know we have a few resident sandwich shop experts. I've also given a link to each restaurant's website above, so that you can check out their menu, etc. before placing your vote. Don't place your vote in this thread, I'll have a separate link for that shortly. In the meantime, feel free to start lobbying for your favorite amongst the above list. However, please keep the discussion in this thread to the restaurants that have been nominated, listed above.

Thanks, everyone, for participating in this...we're still ironing out exactly how this is going to work, but it's inspired some good conversation so far, I think.

Alright, to vote for the sandwich shop or cafe you would most like to see in Forney in the near future, go to:

http://twentypeacefulminutes.com/survey/index.php?sid=1

You don't have to be a registered user of these discussion forums or of the 20PM blog in order to vote, so feel free to send this link to any and all of your friends that live in Forney! Voting will be open until the afternoon of Saturday, July 21st or so. I'm aiming to keep the poll open for about a week, but may extend it if we don't get very many votes.

You are asked for your name and email address - this will not be used for any marketing purposes whatsoever; actually, this information will not be retained at all - you will receive one (1) confirmation email giving you the link to participate in the "survey" and possibly one email confirming that your vote has been recorded, and that's it. After that, I'm purging the names and email addresses from the database so that there's no question that they will not be used for marketing or any other purposes. This is just the only survey/poll system I could find that provides a decent level of protection for people "stuffing the ballot box", and there's no way to turn off the email registration function in it.

It's designed for surveys, not polls, so it's designed to keep the results "secret". I'm still testing this whole process out and figuring it out as I go along, so I may go with a different system next time around. This is a pretty fancy system, but I think it's a bit too fancy for Forney's Most Wanted. If anyone has any feedback about it, things they did/did not like about it, any trouble they had, etc., post it here and I'll try to find a better system by the time we have our next Forney's Most Wanted vote.

I would love to see Jason's Deli come to Forney.  They have great food, some healthy choices and they deliver!
