I hope it's ok to post this.  Lauren's Dad was an old customer of my husband's. We received this message today.

Forney, TX is having a benefit car show on June 29 and we would love or your car club to be involved. This show is to benefit my 11 year daughter who also lives in Forney. She was diagnosed with (osteosarcoma) bone cancer in August of 07. She has been undergoing chemotherapy at Childrens Hospital in Dallas since August 07. In November they removed a large tumor and replaced her right knee with a prosthetic.  If you would like to know more about our daughters story you can visit her carepage at....

We would love for your organization to participate in this show.

Info on show:

Day: Sunday
Date: June 29,2008
Time: 1-5
Location: Luckys Sports Grill
1012 Hwy 80, suite j, Forney,Tx 75126

If you would like more info on the show
contact Gabby (469)835-1527

If you would like more info on my daughter you can contact her Dad,

Thank you,
Brian

This is all the information we have at the time. I just thought this would be a great place to post this. The more people that know about it, the better!

Cancer in children always makes me cry!!!  It said a flyer was included but I didnt see anything to open?  That is really cool of Luckys to offer up their parking lot!  If we are around I hope I can make it down there.

My own child is 11 years old.  I just can not imagine dealing with cancer in my child.  My heart just aches for her and her family.

We didn't get the flyer either. I'll send her a message to see if she can forward it to us.

I will forward this to some local car clubs that I know.  I hate to hear things like this but I love that we are having events like these to benefit them. 8)

OMG, nine months of chemo?  Three just about did me in!  What a brave little girl!

As we get closer to June, I'll post something about this to the blog...remind me, if y'all don't see it up there...

I can't imagine what this girl and her family must be going through - what a battle for an 11 year old to have to fight. 9 months of chemo, wow. If there's any way I can help promote this car show, or any other events or fundraisers they have for Lauren and her family, let me know!

I can see the flyer now! My dad has been in nhra prostock racing for years I am going to forward this flyer to him and see if he wants to donate anything to raffle off. He also sells some cool racing diecast collectibles, so maybe they would be interested in something like that. I am going to call them tommorrow and call my dad. I feel so terrible for lauren and her family, they need to know that they are not alone, the community will help them through this trying time.
