The Windmill Farms Neighborhood Watch Association will be hosting Kaufman County Sherriff David Byrnes at their next meeting on Thursday, September 13, 2007 at 7pm at Blackburn Elementary. All residents of Windmill Farms are encouraged to attend this kick-off meeting for the Neighborhood Watch; Sheriff Byrnes will be presenting information on the importance of the Neighborhood Watch Program and what the Sheriff's Department can do to help prevent crime in the neighborhood.
Sheriff Byrnes will also have information on the Citizens on Patrol training program available to citizens of Kaufman County. Other Kaufman County representatives are expected to attend, so this is a great chance for the residents of Windmill Farms to get to know the officials that represent them.
"Recent burglaries and vandalism in Windmill Farms have prompted a renewed interest in the Neighborhood Watch program here in Windmill Farms. We are excited about re-inventing the program with help from the Sherriff's Office. We invite everyone in Windmill Farms to come out to the meeting and show Sherriff Byrnes how important crime prevention is to its residents." said Alan Speer, Coordinator of the Windmill Farms Neighborhood Watch Association.
