November Elections

This link gives an overview of the State of Texas propositions coming up in the November elections.
Pay close attention to props 2 & 3. These would allow the state to tax our property.
I like prop 11. It looks like it would put an end to using eminent domain to take property for a private entity.

I just had a friend call to tell me that prop 2 does not give the state authority to tax our property. He said that it would keep local taxing entities from taxing homesteads for their highest and best uses as potential businesses. Instead, it would tax them as residences in proportion to their market value to help lessen the burden on property owners during a down economy.
