Are any of the gyms here in Forney on a month-to-month basis? My son needs to work out before going to college in August. I don't want a year contract as he will being going to school out of state. No frills is just fine. He is accustomed to the dark, dank FHS gym so he'd be right at home in a place like that.

Now, the website shows no date for passing out wristbands, but still says the pool opens May 19th.
So, is the pool open and will we be allowed to enter without the wristbands that aren't here, or does the pool stay closed until the wristbands are issued? DUE TO SHIPPING DELAYS WE WILL HAVE TO RESCHEDULE ISSUING POOL WRIST BANDS . SORRY FOR ANY INCONVENIENCE WE WILL KEEP YOU UPDATED - PLEASE CHECK BACK edit: According to some other sources, the pool is supposed to open, tomorrow, minus the wristbands. I wouldn't be shocked to learn that it didn't open. We'll go up there and see if the gates are chained. I guess it'll be no different than showing up wondering if they might be closed due to vandalism or floating things. Just received the following e-mail from HOA: |

Responses like this just make me shake my head.
NOBODY has to choose to own a vicious dog breed. NOBODY. People do need to work, and not everyone can have a job where they can walk or ride a bike. We have speed limits...stop signs, police, etc...all help to minimize risk of fatalities. You need to prove you're a capable driver before you're ever handed a license. Perhaps, the same should apply to anyone who wishes to own a dog especially those of the vicious variety. Maybe, we should have animal control officers patrolling neighborhoods. Maybe, when a dog gets loose we should drug and alcohol test the owners? There is much more done to ensure driving a car is safe vs. making sure a dog owner is safe. If we're going to do so much to regulate something that is a necessity (driving a car) we should that much more regulate something that is a personal optional choice like owning a dog. My kids are even less likely to die from a lightning strike but I'm not letting them run around outside during a thunderstorm. Is it silly that I wouldn't do that because the risk is so minimal even less than a dog attack? Would you let your kids run around with cloud to ground lightning flashing? If so, I'll ask the stupid questions asked of me... If you're so worried about that happening why would you ever let your kids leave the house? I don't live with might and should or could in my vocabulary so why should you? How many people have died falling over a railing at a sports stadium? We lost somebody in Arlington last year, but because he might be one of a handful, or less, this means I should let my kids hang over the railing next time we're out at The Ballpark? The stadium should make no changes and just chalk it up to an accident? Luckily, the stadium did react, much in the same way Maryland has reacted. To sit and watch people get attacked and or killed by dogs and do nothing is insanity. Cars incorporate new technologies for safety. Please, tell me the great things that have happened in this state to ensure nobody ends up maimed or killed? I'm just hopeful insurance companies jack rates up so high on people who own these dogs, and the liability for owning them goes through the roof that people will finally decide they don't need to own one. The tide is changing and it is a very, very good thing. I hope u don't put ur kids in the car. Your kids are more likely to be killed in a car accident then a dog attack. Cars should just be banned. They kill people every minute. |

Not only that, if you don't file a report, that's the first thing they ask. "why didn't you file a report?"I'm not in law enforcement. But I have met more people with a chip on their shoulder than law enforcement officers.Cool story bro. When I lived in Valley Ranch someone stole the grill off of my Z28 while it was parked in my apartment complex. I didn't file a report because that's not important enough for the police to give a crap. Low and behold, I stroll over to Hooter's across from Irving Mall one day and it's on the front of a Camaro parked in the parking lot. I know this because my car had been backed into and it left a groove in the grill. Anyway, I'm like ohhhhh hell no! I go into Hooter's and ask who drives it because it's a Camaro I have seen there on a regular basis parked in the same area. Turns out it was a waitresses car. She comes out, I said "where did you get the grill on your car?" "My boyfriend gave it to me." I let her know it was my grill and promptly called the police. First thing the cop said was, why didn't you file a report? I flat out told him, why? The police don't give a **** about my grill. He had no comment. |

For those of you who have Blue Cross and Blue Shield I notice they are offering fitness memberships at a fairly cheap price. Join in May with no sign up fee and $25 per month. Access is to 7000 centers nationwide. I don't know what they are.
http://bcbstx.com/fitness_program/ Groupon has a coupon for Anytime Fitness in Roulett for $19 for the month. $29 for a 3 month package. Includes small amount of time with a trainer. I think Groupon has some other deals as well. http://www.groupon.com/deals/anytime-fitness-19?c=button&utm_source=newsletter&utm_content=all-deals_dallas&division=dallas&s=body&sid=11175504&utm_medium=email&date=20120516&utm_campaign=anytime-fitness-19&pt=&p=1&addxe=d2RwY3BhQHlhaG9vLmNvbQ==&user=2466fce123e9ee9dfe15bed9dd13d26d94af1d0f0158cc65741a8c27d5ddd9e4&dl=d47388 |
