Forney Family Dentisty

Eureka!  Great Dentist located here in Forney.

There's a new dentist in town and she is a local gal who has come home to roost.  Her name is Dr. Cozby.

I highly recommend her.  I had taken my kids to another dentist and something told me things were just not right there so I went to Dr. Cozby's office for a second opinion.  I am sooo glad I did.  The other office told me that one of my kids had 4 cavities and I found out she only had 2.  I was told by the other dentist that another child had 3 cavities when in reality he didn't have any!  The other office wouldn't show me the x-rays.  Dr. Cozby showed me the digital x-rays so I could see for myself that only one kid had cavities.  The other office told me it would take a total of 6 appointments to do all the work they said was needed.  I can't believe they were going to drill into my kid's teeth when he didn't have any cavities!  It was obvious that the other office was only after my money.

Dr. Cozby's office is state-of-the-art and she and her staff made us feel very welcome and relaxed.  I have to admit that I am a "dental chicken" but even I felt completely at ease there.  Also, there was absolutely no high pressure sales pitch to get additional services there.  She did recommend dental sealants but when I told them it was not in the budget right now they didn't pursue it any further and were quite gracious and understanding about it.

My kids loved playing with the Wii in the waiting room and watching movies while "in the chair".

Unfortunately, I've been having a toothache so I will be setting up an appointment soon. I'm sure it's a cavity that I've had for years! :( I had the two on the left bottom filled but never went back for the two on my right bottom.  I'm a dental chicken too!

It's pretty sad when you'd rather go to the gyno that to the dentist! LOL

I would report that other dentist office. I am sure there is someone you can report those kind of shenanigans to. I would be BEYOND livid if I found out they were lying because that means other people are being rooked and crooked. You should also list who the dentist office is so we can avoid them like the plague. I am going to see if this Cozby dentist takes our insurance... also do they do braces there as well, or no? Most dont but hey... its worth a shot lol

The dental office who tried to rip us off was "The Dental Ranch" located in Mesquite, Kaufman and soon coming to Tanger Outlet Mall.  Avoid them like the plague.

Check your "junk mail" there was a big post card with coupons.  One was for a free exam.  The other was for $50 off any diagnosed dental treatment.

They have space and plans to expand their practice.  I can't remember if orthodontics was included in their future plans though.  Sorry.

Thank you ma'am! I definitely wont be going there!!! I have deep seated fears of the dentist and the last thing my kids need are some drill happy jerks who are only looking for pay dirt.

Reminds me of these dentists they caught a few years back. They were using medicade kids as cash cows. They would drill out all these healthy teeth in medicade children :( Poor kid had an entire metal mouth and the xrays only showed he had about 3 teeth that actually had needed dental work.

I went to Forney Family Dentistry for a second opinion and have been completely satisfied.  The first dentist that I went to in Forney told me that I had 3 cavities and needed 1 crown.  After leaving that office I had an uneasy feeling about the visit and I was shocked and in disbelief.  I take really good care of my teeth!  The first dentist I went to made me feel like I was in a used car lot with different people coming in to show me different fillings/crowns and all of the different prices.  Long story short, I was in the dentist chair for 2.5 hours for a routine cleaning.

I opted for a second opinion at Forney Family Dentistry and was very pleased with the service I received from the entire staff.  I highly recommend Forney Family Dentistry.  After my first visit with Dr.Cozby and her professional staff at Forney Family Dentistry it was determined that I had only one cavity and no need for any crowns.  Forney Family Dentistry is fantastic.  I have been recommending them to everyone I come in contact with.  Just because Forney Family Dentistry does not have the word "Modern" in their business name does not mean they are not modern.  They have all the "Modern High Tech Equipment" and the caring customer service to go with the equipment.  Dr. Cozby grew up in Forney and is making a positive difference in her patients dental care.  If you are looking for an outstanding dentist for your family, go see Dr. Cozby at Forney Family Dentistry.

Okay here goes....

Osata, I'm not sure we went to the same Forney Family Dentistry!! I'm at a total loss!
I just left there...and I HONEST TO GOD feel like I have been to a TOOTH SALESMAN!!
Like a freaking car dealership!! :(

I went for a tooth cleaning okay, a routine freaking cleaning. Well so I needed a deeper cleaning, okay. Let's do it as long as the insurance will pay for it. Well THEN I need a NIGHT GUARD cuz at 37 years of age apparently NOW I'm a night grinder..WTF?!?!? ALL THESE YEARS AND...WHATEVER!
ALso, this grinding is what is causing my tooth to hurt! ??????? Well, then they want to file down my two front lower teeth to put them in line with the others, I have 4 cavities...I was aware of two. The enamel is missing off my two top teeth, has been for years. Most dentists have told me that it may be because of all the lemons I ate as a child...today I learn that it may be from heart burn, acid reflux...I DONT HAVE ACID REFLUX THAT MUCH!!! I told them I would let them do whatever the insurance would pay for....well guess what, apparently the insurance won't pay for ANYTHING! I have MetLife they pay 100% for Preventive and Routine Cleaning!  I left the dentist with sore gums yet my teeth were NOT EVEN CLEANED!?!?!!!!!!!!!!   Oh, and at the end of the visit when I find out that they weren't going to clean my teeth until they find out what the insurance will do...well I was pulled into the "FINANCIAL OFFICE" by the THIRD SALES PERSON and she had my insurance results and treatment plan/payment plan! AHA HA HA!!! Will take THREE visits Basically, all the sh** they want to do will cost ME OUT OF POCKET $1,356!!! What a joke!!! I was so mad when I left there I was almost in tears!! :( I really feel like I spent that hour and half in at a dealership. :(
I don't understand, I just wanted my teeth cleaned!!! And for them to check my tooth that was hurting me on an occasion! I just don't get it. Can you not just go to the dentist anymore and get your teeth cleaned?!?! PLEASE PLEASE, ANYBODY...if you know of a SIMPLE DENTIST......I NEED ONE!!! Are there any left out there?!?!  ^help :cry-baby: :nosulk:

 :sad6: for the yelling

Oh, and let me add...I've never had any problems with my teeth. I've always gotten great reports form the past dentists. I took my DD to the dentist not to long ago and the dentist said she had gorgeous teeth, that is hereditary!

Pookie your experience was horrible.  There is Forney Modern Dentistry south of 80 by CVS and there is Forney Family Dentistry north of 80 between the Shell station and Mc Donalds.  They are not related to each other even though the names sound similar.  Which one did you go to?

Oh I forgot to tell the part about the THREE X-rays. It took 3 tries for her to get my full x-ray. The first time the x-ray jacket collar was in the way, the second time the computer didn't save the x-ray, so the final and third try was good, I hope. Will too many x-ray rays harm you?? :(

John Taylor DDS
417 North McGraw Street

My family has been going to this dentist ever since we moved to Forney. He has been working in Forney for quite some time and I think that he is a native. His office is not located in one of the newly-built high rent strip malls (with corresponding high rates), but I have always received excellent service at a fair price.

Forney Family Dentistry is requesting feedback survey for my visit. All I can say is....you asked for it. Sometimes the truth hurts. :(  I truly hope the majority of their customers were not treated as I was.
