What about Splash Kingdom in Canton?

It was nice, not all the metroplex crowds to deal with.

$62 (dd has a free ticket from school reading program) + $ for eating/soft drinks + gas (driving to Arlington) + the heat factor = not enough fun for the money
You can get free water at any stand just fyi.

Can't see how anyone could have fun at six flags dragging around kids though.

People who enjoy ""dragging around kids" are called parents  ;)

While I did not care much for the heat and crowds at Six Flags . . . . . I really did enjoy watching dd experience the rides when we went several years back.  I guess this year we will make some different memories . . . . . . a little bit cheaper though.

I think alot of these places price themselves out of business.

Thanks for the suggestion. . . . we have not been there . . . so I will check out the website.

Taxes should be used for NEEDS not wants.  You WANT something extra/special pay for it yourself, don't share the burden with other homeowners.  Why should people's taxes be so high and unaffordable?

KristieandJason: Your right! - on re-read I see they DID file Chapter 11.

Here's the interesting link!! AND it tells about having to "rebuild" "The Texas Giant" as it's 19 years old (already!).

http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/news/city/arlington/stories/DN-sixflags_14met.ART0.Central.Edition1.5117caf.html

They closed "The Giant" this week because a super saw a 'problem' with a car or the track on Monday, and they are having to check it out.

The Coke can says bring the can and you can get in at the kid's price + tax. . . . not sure what happens if you don't bring a coke can though  ??? because they are advertising everyone for kid's price . . . but don't mention bringing the coke can.

it was meant as a joke. . . . you always seem to enjoy taking stabs at WMF/NFHS. . . thought you would see the humor in it. . . . guess not
