Been to Ouray myself, I was in awe when I went, Alaska blew that whole area away in my opinion, but Colorado is MUCH closer, but dang near as expensive LOL

And I really wanted to go fishing, but the Kings hadn't returned yet, the Fish and Game Dept. were baffled and I didn't want to waste my time... and have you ever fished for salmon up there? I was suprised as they call it "combat fishing" because when the salmon are running you are shoulder to shoulder in the rivers and they have "rules" you follow as when someone hooks a fish they yell "FISH ON" and the dudes downstream from him have to reel in their lines so the dude who caught the fish can land the sucker...and I hear tell when they are running that there is a lot of "FISH ON" going on, but I guess when you get to yell it, it would be cool.

Beautiful pictures, Tex. Both the scenery and the family. You got to see a lot more of Alaska than we did - we went for Labor Day weekend a couple of years ago for a friend's wedding so we were more involved in that and didn't get to do a lot of sight seeing. Glad you owned up to being the "dork" - was afraid you had a stalker!

sorry bout that tex my pc's been out for awhile and this has been my only chance all week to get on. nope never been fishing up there though sounds exciting and believe it or not our trip has actually been post poned due to moms health. we'll go in september. once she gets over this stupid surgery. AH. LOL yeh it does get expensive and but it can be cheaper. just depends on what u do up there. its fun we enjoy it, we actually go off roading with other peeps that belong to a forum, called Fjcruiserforums.com all about fjs and what we do WITH them.
