Cheldan Homes in Travis Ranch
« on: July 30, 2009, 03:55:25 pm »
Saw that Cheldan Homes is selling in Travis Ranch (http://cheldanhomes.com/BYH_Map_Dallas.asp). Anyone know if they are taking the Kimball Hill lots. I know Horton recently took the David Weekly lots.

It looks like they are also selling out in Windmill Farms. However, they could have been one of the original builders in Windmill Farms, I don't know. As such, this might not be news for Windmill Farms.

They weren't one of the original builders in WF, but I do wonder when they got into the game - if maybe they were one of the builders that were supposed to be in Phase 4? Can't remember...I'm wondering though because of their website they say

"Located in beautiful Forney, Windmill Farms is a wonderful master-planned community located on rolling hills near Lake Ray Hubbard. Homeowners enter to spacious greenbelts and enjoy numerous family amenities such as beautiful lakes (including a catch and release lake!), jogging and biking trails, numerous parks, playgrounds and picnic areas, and two swim centers. Coming soon is a new 18-hole golf course!"

Yeah, the WMF golf course was officially killed off at least a year ago at this point. Nice truth in advertising there...

The directions on their site for Windmill Farms direct visitors to the model home park that was built for Phase 3, but I didn't think there were any actual open models over there anymore. Weird.

I believe they will be taking Kimball Hill lots because the address they list on the website is Bend Ct. This is where the KH and Ryland models are located. Horizon and David Weekly are on Morris Ranch on the opposite side of the Blvd.

"Located in beautiful Forney, Windmill Farms is a wonderful master-planned community lie located on rolling hills near would not classify us "near" Lake Ray Hubbard . . cannot even see the lake! Lake Ray Hubbard. Homeowners enter to spacious greenbelts and enjoy numerous family amenities such as beautiful lakes ponds would be a better description(including a catch and release lake!), jogging and biking trails, wide sidewalks numerous parks, playgrounds and picnic areas, and two swim centers centers! centers! is that what they are calling those places! . Coming soon is a new 18-hole golf course!"

Sounds to me more like a typo was made in the name of the community where they are selling homes . . . . because let me tell you. . . . that description does not sound like where I live.

Taxes should be used for NEEDS not wants.  You WANT something extra/special pay for it yourself, don't share the burden with other homeowners.  Why should people's taxes be so high and unaffordable?

Five years ago when we bought everything (but one "swimming center") was classified as conceptional. . . . . . I did not move here for the "golf course". . . . the hike/bike trails that were suppose to be a couple of houses down from me are drainage ditches.   The "trails" around the pond that does not hold water . . . oh excuse me the "lake". . . nothing more than wide sidewalks.    So to answer your question . . . I cannot sue them.

Lesson learned here. . . . lol . . . in fact when I read about new developments I start picking their "descriptions" apart. . . . . rofl!

The elementary school was what really convinced me to move here . . . I thought it would be sooo much fun to have a school in the area so that dd would live close to her school friends . . . . just too bad that we don't care for our neighbors.

And my apologies for totally getting this thread off track . . . . but darn Josh for cracking that door open . . . . LOL
